Selected by Cigar Aficionado as the 2015 #16 Cigar Of The Year – Rated 93
A square pressed Nicaraguan cigar may not be new for AVO, but the #16 Cigar Aficionado cigar of 2015 Avo Syncro Nicaragua Toro is the first time they are using this formula on a regular production premium cigar. This unique cigar uses a dark Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, a binder from the Dominican Republic, and a tri-country filler blend of Dominican, Nicaraguan, and Peruvian tobaccos.
AVO Syncro Nicaragua Toro is perfectly named because the synchronization of the flavors of the Nicaraguan and Dominican filler play perfectly off each other just like an exquisitely written song. This medium-to-full-bodied cigar starts off with an amazing amount of pepper and spice but has a smooth transition halfway through into a more creamy and earthy flavor. Each puff brings on more and more tasting notes until you hit the crescendo in the final third where they all play off each other.
Davidoff first ventured into Nicaragua with it’s well-received Davidoff Nicaragua line, and now it is AVO’s turn at the robust tobaccos from this cigar making nation. Stronger than what most expect from AVO, Syncro Nicaragua is a perfect cigar to finish your day.
